DEVELOPMENT OF KHALIFA PORT
Developed on Khalifa Port Island off the coast of the UAE emirate of Abu Dhabi, the semi‐automated container terminal Khalifa Port was instigated by Abu Dhabi Ports Company to serve as a relocation of the old container terminal in Abu Dhabi centre and to become a flagship for the UAE in and the first automated container terminal in the Middle East.
Employees of Solid Port Solutions have managed the project of installing the latest development of port equipment with the latest version of the Navis N4 Terminal Operating System.
On the terminal are the latest Ship To shore cranes capable of handling the biggest container vessels in the world. The stack is handled by 2 Automated Stacking Cranesper block, making the terminal a terminal with very short turnaround times for both vessels on the waterside and trucks on the landside of the terminal.
After the project was completed within time and within budget, the terminal was handed over to the terminal Operator Abu Dhabi Terminals.
