Management for the Container Terminal Expansion and Automation at Lineage Vlissingen

Preparing for the future

Lineage (previously Kloosterboer Vlissingen) is operating a terminal in Flushing specialised in temperature controlled food products. The cargo packaging was gradually shifting from general cargo towards containerized cargo. One of Lineage’s largest customers at their Vlissingen location, decided to switch it's method of operations from conventional transport to container transport when heading to Western Europe. It was very important for Lineage to not stay behind in this development, but to go along with it and be prepared for the future. Therefore, Lineage decided to invest in upgrading their existing Reach Stacker terminal to an automated solution to be able to handle all new volumes and grow even further towards the future. As an addition the decision was made to completely overhaul the Empty Depot at the site to be able to handle the additional volume of expected reefers. This was all achieved with the support of the Solid Port Solutions team who where previously involved with integrating a fully automated land side gate at the terminal.

Our role and approach

Solid Port Solutions delivered the overall project management and support to ensure on-time and within budget delivery of the entire project. This was all done with support from Lineage staff and Lineage site management.
